Founded in 1981, TABB is the oldest business brokerage association in the United States. Its highest award is the BCB (Board Certified Broker) designation.
To earn the prestigious M&AMI, CBI, and BCB certifications, the professional broker/ intermediary must successfully complete certain required educational courses that encompass the various aspects of deal-making, including course topics related to legal, tax, financial, and business valuation issues; then pass a comprehensive examination designed to test the skills and abilities that are typically encountered in all aspects of selling or buying a business.
To obtain the M&AMI, the professional intermediary must also submit documented proof of completed Lower Middle Market transactions.
